Restaurant Review : Mbah Jingkrak Cabang Bogor

My hubby and I planned to have our lunch outside today and for some reasons we chose the new Bogor Branch Mbah Jingkrak. They say their tagline is: "Siapa bilang makanan Jawa nggak bisa pedas?"

Well, Mbah, this is my review...:

The place is quite cozy... javanese style with red bricks and all.. but then, the chaos began...
We had to wait soooooooooooooo long for our food to come. Why? because the waiter never came to us to bring our orders. This is the place where we pick which food we eat then the orders are written by the waiter while the picking moment happens.
We arrived at 2 PM, but we have to wait for 30 minutes for our food to be delivered!! And it is only for ready-to-serve food that don't need to be cooked again! how ridiculous is thatt??????? Fortunately my hubby talked to the right person, which is the manager-in-charge. So, we complained, and he took our order as fast as he can. PPFFFTTT... bad first impression!

The food??? yes they are definitely spicy, but the taste?? i could say it's tasteless!
We order daun pepaya, kikil, kering tempe, perkedel jagung, ayam pedas and ayam pedas manis.
Daun pepaya? not good! it's too bitter (i usually like eating them)
Kikil? well, it's spicy but not tasty
Ayam pedas, well... normal taste.. but still not tasty.... something's missing here -_____-"
The tastiest food was only the kering tempe. It's sweet, it's good and tasty...
The perkedel jagung is quite tasty, unfortunately it's not served hot from the pan :D

Ow yea... the beverage??? not goooddd...
I ordered something with cincau, degan, selasih and gula jawa (oh i forgot the name, my baddd)
and it tastes plain -_____- it's supposed to be sweet... and i don't like it if it's too sweet.. yet, for me, an i-don't-really-like-sweet-drink person thinks that it's plain -_____- no sweetness at all -_____- doesn't taste good.

My hubby ordered orange juice... and it's also not good. it tastes like cheap squashed orange...
And... we felt quite satisfied with the tea... that IS recommended... the one that you can get in any warteg in Indonesia *yes yes, this is me being sarcastic*

The only good thing of this place is the cheap price. Of all the food and beverages mentioned above, we should only pay for IDR 60,000. But still, it's considered expensive to think that we can get tastier food in common warteg with the same amount of money -_____-"

Conclusion: Yes... it is SPICY but.. TASTELESS -___- too bad... all you can taste is the spicy food...

I don't recommend it.... i prefer RM Ampera lahh.... it's better :D
